For those who are looking for an overnight adventure, this is the trip for you. Telegraph Creek is 160 miles up the Stikine River. Watch as the scenery changes from the coastal rain forested mountains, filled with hanging glaciers, majestic trees and lush greenery, to the more arid boreal forest that surrounds Telegraph Creek. I havent done a trip to Telegraph Creek and not seen bear, moose, mountain goats. My favorite time of the season is mid-May thru June and again in mid-September thru mid-October for the awesome fall colors. (much like New England)
Spend the night in the historic Stikine Riversong Lodge, Café and General Store at Telegraph Creek (a very scenic town that is reminiscent of a western ghost town). Or maybe camping along the shores of the Stikine River is more to your liking. We can outfit you with all the required gear.
One can do a flight seeing tour of the Grand Canyon of the Stikine and surrounding area while at Telegraph Creek, it just awesome! Or maybe a road tour from Telegraph Creek towards Dease Lake is more your style. It is quite a breath taking tour.
Taking a 1 mile walk into Great Glacier, Sterling Waterfall, and viewing the oldest Homestead site on the Stikine River are but a few of the highlights. This is a trip that you wont forget!
