We started Breakaway Adventures by offering fishing charters back in 1989. Over the next decade we added guided Anan Bear Tours (breakaway link), jet boat tours on the Stikine River (breakaway link), and LeConte Glacier tours with the option of travel to Petersburg, Alaska. The Wrangell Wiggle, our trademark move, is a big boon for those booking with us. We are proud of our expertise and long history in Wrangell exploration and touring. Our mission is to provide you and your companions with the best experience, whether it's on one of our Alaska glacier tours or on a trip to the Anan Bear Observatory. All tours are fully narrated and come with complementary drinks and maps. 

Breakaway Adventures operates 4 of the most modern jet boats in the Wrangell vicinity. Two of our boats are custom-built by Bentz Boats (link), one by Duckworth, and the last by Svendsen Marine Works (link) -- all right here in Wrangell. For additional safety and reliability, three boats are powered by twin 315-horsepower diesel engines. The Glacier Chaser is our 24' single-diesel engine, 6-passenger vessel with forward-facing seats -- one of kind here in Wrangell. No other local touring company has been in operation as long as we have. With 4 vessels, Breakaway Adventures can ensure you have the tour you deserve -- we don't leave early or late or provide shortened tours as is common with some single-boat operations, which must accommodate two tours per day. Also, our vessels are outfitted with the best equipment. They have sliding glass windows throughout (some don't), windshield wipers on the front door/windows (some don't), stand-up walk-in cabins (some don't), life rafts, first vessels with forward-facing seats (some don't), and many other unique features. We originated jet boat tours in Wrangell, and we can assure you an amazing experience.
